NOTE: Because I usually have multiple projects going on at the same time, all new projects must have a minimum of 8 weeks lead time on final delivery to avoid a rush charge.
The design process starts with both parties getting a full understanding of the scope of the project. Once that is established, an estimate will be sent along with a contract. After the contract is signed and the deposit is received, I start by sketching, researching, and exploring various concepts.
Preliminary design solutions that best suit what the client needs and wants are presented and gone over, at which point we continue collaborating to refine what’s essential to the overall design.
The chosen concept is revised and proofed alongside client feedback. The final result will be complemented with coordinating colors and typefaces to best represent the face of the identity system.
Final images will be formatted and saved for optimal use by client and packaged with applicable deliverables (e.g., a style guide for ease of use). Delivery will occur after final payment is received.

*Understand that identity design has complexities that sometimes aren’t included in a simple pricing block, which is why an estimate will be rendered after communicating with you what it is that you’re wanting to have created. These packages are a baseline, not a guarantee. Deviations from the contract such as but not limited to, variations in time, changes to deadline, changes to complexity of design(s), changes to the number of allotted revisions, and any other variables that affect the design process will be reflected in the estimate, timeline, as well as the final bill if the estimate is nullified through additional changes.
When you invest in services from a professional designer, you’re benefiting from their training, their years of experience, and their commitment to their craft as well as to their clients. What’s more, you’re getting a professional identity set that functions beyond a mark and on into a cohesively designed identity package able to represent the face of your business or organization for many years.
I feel very strongly about charging rates that stay in industry averages. There’s a LOT of pressure designers and artists face with pricing. When studios give in to pressure to undercut their rates, it drags down the whole industry. It really becomes a race to the bottom when rates don’t support self-employment taxes, insurance, tech costs, living expenses, and so on. What about working for ‘exposure,’ you might ask? Well, How many grocery stores do you know that accept ‘exposure’ at checkout?
I have a BFA degree with a focus on graphic design. I’ve been doing design professionally since 2007. My design prices are at the median range for this type of work in this part of the country, AND I offer a Bootstrap package. I do recognize and respect that everyone’s budget for professional design is different. If these rates are above your budget, you may consider looking into design help with students enrolled in a design program at your local college or university. If this is below what you were expecting to pay (it is well below agency design fees), be inspired to go invest your dollars into your local community’s art programs, businesses, or non-profit organizations!
